Last year Massive Attack confirmed plans for a UK arena tour to mark the 21st anniversary of their album Mezzanine, including a guest appearance from Elizabeth Fraser whose vocals featured on the record.
They’ve now shared more details of the tour ahead of it starting in Glasgow on Monday (January 28), including the news that Adam Curtis will provide visual accompaniment to the shows.
"The show tells the story of the strange journey we have all been on over the past 20 years since Mezzanine was released: How we have moved into a strange backward-looking world, enclosed by machines that read our data and predict our every move, haunted by ghosts from the past," says Adam Curtis.
Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja continues: "The show is a deconstruction of the entire album with the original songs and samples being performed live. This isn’t a greatest hits show, don’t expect a Hollywood ending."
In addition to guest vocals from Elizabeth Fraser, Horace Andy will also join Massive Attack on stage, while AI artist Mario Klingeman will provide additional visuals.
