Mark Jenkin To Release Score For Forthcoming Film ‘Enys Men’

The folk horror film is set in 1973 on an uninhabited island off the Cornish coast

BAFTA Award-winning director, screenwriter, cinematographer and musician Mark Jenkin is set to release the score for his next film, Enys Men, via Invada Records.

Out in January, the soundtrack’s release will come just ahead of the UK and Ireland debut of the film in cinemas courtesy of BFI Distribution. The folk horror film is set in 1973 on an uninhabited island off the Cornish coast, and sees a wildlife volunteer’s "daily observations of a rare flower take a dark turn into the strange and metaphysical, forcing both her and viewers to question what is real and what is nightmare," according to press materials.

The soundtrack, meanwhile, makes heavy use of drones and environmental recordings, and also includes dialogue from the film. You can listen to ‘Enys Pt.2’ from the soundtrack above, and find out more about the film here.

Invada will release Enys Men – Original Score on January 2, 2023.
