Marissa Nadler will release her eighth album this September. Above, you can stream the title track ‘For My Crimes’.
The album sees Nadler team up with a number of female musicians taking in vocals from Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten and Kristin Kontrol, drums from former Hole member Patty Schemel, harp played by Mary Lattimore and strings from multi-instrumentalist Janel Leppin.
‘For My Crimes’ opens the albums and was born out of a songwriting exercise which saw Nadler writing from the perspective of someone on death row. Angel Olsen also contributes vocals to the track. The album cover also features one of Nadler’s own oil paintings, while prints of further paintings linked to the album’s specific tracks will be included in a special limited edition release of the LP.
Nadler will play Manchester’s Gullivers on October 29 and London’s St. Mattias Church on October 30 following the album’s release. For My Crimes will be released by Bella Union and Sacred Bones on September 28. It can be pre-ordered here.
