Marcel Dettmann Launches Second Label

Bad Manners will kick off with an EP from Berlin producer Exterminador and remixes from Rabih Beaini as Morphosis and Anthony 'Shake' Shakir

Marcel Dettmann is launching a new record label.

Bad Manners, a press release says, aims to create an "undefined space for expression while encouraging unpredictability in format and sound". It will kick off with a four-track 12" by Berlin producer Exterminador, titled Bad Manners 2.

The label’s second release will see Rabih Beaini return to his Morphosis alias to remix a track by Dettmann. The record will also include a remix by Detroit producer Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir. Both remixes date back some years but had remained unreleased until now, with Shakir turning in a reworking of a Dettmann track that is also still unreleased.

Bad Manners 2 will be released in mid-September, while Bad Manners 3 will follow in early October. Dettmann will launch the label with a Bad Manners party at Amsterdam’s Shelter during Amsterdam Dance Event on October 18. Dettmann and Exterminador will be joined by Discwoman’s Umfang, Luke Slater (playing as Planetary Assault Systems), Vril and Miss Kittin as the event. Find more details here.

Bad Manners follows on from Dettmann’s other label, Marcel Dettmann Records, which launched in 2006 and has released music from himself, Answer Code Request, Anthony Parasole, Norman Nodge and more since.
