LISTEN: New Manic Street Preachers

The second taste of the Manics' forthcoming thirteenth record has arrived, along with a Kieran Evans-directed video

With Manic Street Preachers’ thirteenth record Resistance Is Futile arriving this April, the band have shared the second single cut from the new LP.

‘Distant Colours’, which you can watch above, comes accompanied with a video by longstanding visual collaborator Kieran Evans which stars actor Sarah Sayuri.

The lyrics were written by vocalist James Dean Bradfield, rather than Nicky Wire, and inspired by disenchantment and Nye Bevan’s old Labour. He said: "Musically, the verse is downcast and melancholic and the chorus is an explosion of disillusionment and tears."

Resistance Is Futile is released on April 13, having been pushed back a week. They embark on a UK tour this spring, and will play a number of festivals. For their dates, click here.
