Manic Street Preachers are reissuing their seventh studio album, Lifeblood.
Marking the record’s 20th anniversary, its tracks have been remastered for the updated release, which will also take in various B-sides, demos and outtakes recorded during the original studio sessions for the LP. New liner notes and unseen pictures will also be included in the physical release, which is split across various CD and vinyl versions. It will be made available digitally too.
Described by the band’s Nicky Wire as "our most estranged album of all", Lifeblood saw Manic Street Preachers look to the music they liked when they were young – such as Low Life-era New Order and early Simple Minds – for inspiration. Speaking now about the record, the group’s James Dean Bradfield said in a statement: "I loved making Lifeblood, because it was interesting. I loved chasing these other versions of what we were trying to do."
The band are currently working on their 15th studio album, and are also set to head out on a co-headline tour of the UK and Ireland with Suede through June and July. More information on that run of dates can be found here.
