WATCH: New Mamuthones Video

Mamuthones share a video for new track 'Show Me' from their upcoming album

Italian group Mamuthones take their name from the masked creatures that have haunted the minds of the Sardinian people for centuries. Led by ex-Jennifer Gentle member, Alessio Gastaldello, the group create a possessed, dance-floor friendly, psychedelic sound.

Early next year, they will release their third solo album, and their second full-length effort for Rocket Recordings, entitled Fear on the Corner, and above you can watch the toothy, Guess Who?-referencing video for lead track ‘Show Me’ exclusively via tQ.

"The songs deal with fear," says the band’s Alessio Gastaldello. "Fear of the present, of human situations, fear of the new political situation, fear of political decisions being taken from other people’s fear, but also fear of relationship breakdown, fear of being alone or fear of being together with the wrong people, fear of not finding ‘a place in the world’, personal fear and obsession, fear of fear itself."

The album is the band’s first with new drummer Andrea Davì who joined the group following their appearance at the last Liverpool Psych Fest, a set which the band consider the end of their previous chapter together. "It is a big dance party for very sad events," Gastaldello says of the album. "We are a kind of Titanic orchestra playing and dancing while the ship goes down. The party must go on."

Fear on the Corner is out on February 23. You can pre-order the album directly via Bandcamp here.
