Macca’s Wax Head Found By Urban Camper

Homeless man scoops two grand reward

The wax model of Paul McCartney’s head has been found by a homeless man who’ll scoop a £2,000 reward, it was revealed today.

As previously reported on the Quietus, businessman Joby Carter offered the reward after he left the head on the train just days before it was due to be sold at auction.

"We got a phone call from Abbey Road studios from a man claiming to have the head," Mr Carter told the BBC. "We’ve had a lot of pranks calls so my assistant asked him to send in a picture and, lo and behold, there he is holding the head. He has not given us much information but he wanted to meet me personally."

He added that the interest surrounding the loss of the bonce will probably ensure it attracts a premium price when the auction finally takes place. Aha.

"This is the first auction I’ve organised so you can’t imagine my relief at the hope of getting the head back," Carter said before continuing, with amusing turn of phrase, "It may cost me £2,000 in a reward but it will save my face.

"The silly thing is since the appeal to find the head we’ve had more bids come in, with interest from Japan and America, and the sell price is guaranteed to have gone up. But I will think twice about organising another auction,"
