John Lydon’s adverts for Country Life butter might have annoyed the meth drinker punks on Camden’s canal bridge, but Dairy Crest are celebrating the news that he has been in part responsible for increased sales of the toast lubricant.

Dairy Crest, which produces the butter, had been in a financial scrape, laying off staff and issuing a profit warning, reports the Guardian.

However, sales of Country Life and assorted spreads are up by 85% in the third quarter f , while Cathedral City, that peculiar yellow building block masquerading as a cheese, is up 14%.
