Lush’s Bassist Leaves Band

No reason has been given for his departure from the group

Having reunited last year, shoegazers Lush have now announced that bassist Phil King has left the band, triggering the cancellation of two upcoming shows at Iceland Airwaves and Rolling Stone Weekender.

The band have said that their final show of the year at Manchester Academy on November 25 will still go ahead and that they are "in the process of acquiring another bass player" in a Twitter statement, which begins: "We are very sad to announce the departure of Phil King from the band."

The band’s reunion last year and subsequent shows have marked their first together in 20 years, while April of this year saw the release of a new EP as well as a boxset, entitled Origami, charting their output.
