Luke Slater Collaborates With Surgeon And More For New Album

'DIALOGUE', forthcoming on Ostgut Ton's A-TON sub-label, comprises four three-person collaborative pieces

Luke Slater is helming a new collaboration-based release for Ostgut Ton’s experimental sub-label A-TON.

DIALOGUE comprises four extended pieces that see Luke Slater team up with two other artists on each cut. All of the tracks on the release were produced remotely during last year’s COVID-19 lockdowns, with Anthony Child (AKA Surgeon), KMRU, Speedy J, Lady Starlight and Tom Moth, the harpist in Florence + The Machine, all guesting.

"It’s not live jamming as such," Slater is quoted by Resident Advisor as saying of the project. "A single live, one-take recording of audio and video is passed from person one to person two as a file. Then they, using that as a background, record their performance in the same way. Both performances are then passed to a third performer who does the same. Then I mix it at the end."

DIALOGUE will first be released digitally this month, with a full vinyl release of the project due to follow in August.

A-TON will release DIALOGUE on June 25, 2021.
