Luke Haines: MES-Inspired “Micro Opera”

What happens when a Mark E. Smith impersonator has his holiday ruined by Skrewdriver? Let Luke Haines and Scott King reveal all

Luke Haines has announced a typically singular new project entitled Adventures In Dementia, a "micro opera" which we’re told features a Mark E. Smith impersonator’s caravan holiday getting ruined by "Ian Stewart", lead singer of fascist skinhead band Skrewdriver.

Adventures In Dementia is a collaboration between the ex-Auters frontman and artist Scott King, and is being performed as part of King’s Festival Of Stuff on July 10 and 11 as part of the annual Foreign Affairs festival in Berlin. The festival, which takes place at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, features live music, actors and visuals, as well as contributions from Russell Haswell and artist Jeremy Deller.
