Having spent the last couple of years building a cult following through a series of live shows, as well as a debut release last year called Hands, Brighton’s Lower Slaughter are now ready to share their debut album, What Big Eyes.
The album, streaming in full above, is built around the storming loud riffs that they’ve come to be known for through their live shows, as well as the charging vocals of former Divorce vocalist Sinead Young, with her lyrics across the record taking aim at oppression and inequality. Reviewing the record recently for tQ, Matt Ridout described the record’s 10 tracks as being "full of pomp, spit and bile careening about with uptempo stomping and heavy sludge".
What Big Eyes is out this Friday (September 15) via Box Records and can be pre-ordered here. The band will follow the album’s release with live shows at London’s DIY Space (September 21) and Brighton’s The Hope and Ruin (September 22). You can read our review of the album here.
