Reissue label Light In The Attic are set to follow up their reissues of Betty Davis’ albums with a new compilation, entitled Columbia Years 1968-1969, which features never-before-heard collaboration with then-husband Miles Davis.
The release takes in two sessions from 1969 recorded at Columbia’s 52nd Street Studios produced by Miles Davis and Teo Macero. The recordings feature Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, John McLaughlin and more and include unreleased covers of Cream and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
There is also music from 1968 sessions in Los Angeles which feature Hugh Masekela and a new interview with Davis. It’s all out on July 11 and you can check out a trailer for the release above.
