Loop are set to release their first music new music in a quarter-century, in the form of the Array 1 EP, due out on June 22 on ATP Recordings. You can hear the first track to be taken from the release, ‘Precession’, above.
The track will be joined by ‘Aphelion’, ‘Coma’ and ‘Radial’ on the 32-minute release, the first new release from the band since their 1990 album A Gilded Eternity. Array 1, the first of three releases the band, who reunited in 2013, are set to release in the coming year, was recorded by the current line-up of Robert Hampson (vocals and guitar), Hugo Morgan (bass), Wayne Maskell (drums) and Dan Boyd (guitar). The next EP is due in the autumn, with founding member Hampson describing the three releases as "one project, with the same concept, delivered in bulletins". The EP release will coincide with a series of concerts, including performances with Mogwai and GZA to celebrate the former’s 20th anniversary. Loop will play:
