This Wednesday sees Anna Meredith play London’s Scala in what will be her biggest headline show to date rounding up an extensive run of UK and European shows, and ahead of that, she has a new remix of her track ‘The Vapours’ to share by Manchester producer LoneLady.
Retitled ‘VapourIsED’ for the remix, the producer turns the pop-rock squall of Meredith’s original into a sprightly electro/disco stomper. "I enjoyed the challenge of taking quite a complex, layered track and paring it down," says LoneLady of her remix. "The bulk of the sounds are sourced from just a few bars of the original, but I added some textures to LoneLady-fy it. The result? Hyperventilating, bleak disco."
Meredith describes the original as one of her favourite tracks she has written, adding that she "just totally went for it" in the recording process. LoneLady’s remix features as part of the single release of ‘The Vapours’ which is out on December 2. To pick up a ticket for her Scala show this Wednesday (November 23), click here.
