Fresh off the back of a dizzying, confectionary set at this year’s Fat Out Festival, Cumbria’s Natalie Sharp AKA Lone Taxidermist is set to bring her Trifle project to Hackney’s Paper Dress Vintage.
Hosted by Homemade Disco on April 25, Lone Taxidermist’s performance this time round will not quite be the wildly cream-filled and squelchy bedlam of her Fat Out installation. Nonetheless, the event is set to be an immersive, jarring venture into the world of food/sex fetishism to the sound of suitably manic electronic production and sporadic pop vocal work.
The music will be taken from Lone Taxidermist’s forthcoming album Trifle featuring Philip Winter and Will Kwerk. The performance will include a visual backdrop provided by Ross Blake comprised of assorted YouTube cake fetish videos rife with "sploshing", "cake sitting" and "crushing".
The gelatinous, viscous thematic set-up of the performance will make for a thrilling experience, even without the giant, cream and custard firing vaginas and jelly flinging.
Support on the night will come from Selfish Cunt’s Martin Tomlinson, Heart Years and tQ’s own John Doran in the form of a post-gig DJ set. To learn more about Lone Taxidermist’s frenzied live show, the Trifle LP and the fanciful world of cake fetishes, have a read of our interview with Sharp here .
