Annual event series Luminate is set to return to its usual home of Kings Place in King’s Cross, London next month.
Across nine concerts, the series aims to present boundary-pushing artists, with many of those performing making use of the venue’s immersive d&b Soundscape system. Drew McDowall gets it all underway on October 10 with a show that will see him play music from his latest album, A Thread, Silvered And Trembling.
On October 11, New York-based composer and percussionist Eli Keszler will present an audiovisual live show, while Iceboy Violet and Nueen link up the following night for the debut London performance of their recent collaborative record for Hyperdub, You Said You’d Hold My Hand Through The Fire.
Further shows will come from turntablist NikNak (October 13); Bianca Scout (17); Forest Swords (26); Carl Stone, Jeremiah Chiu and Marta Sofia Honer (27); Damsel Elysium and Jasmine Wood, for an AD 93 label night (30); and mui zyu (31).
Previous Luminate series have seen the likes of L’Rain, Space Afrika, Arooj Aftab, Eartheater and Beatrice Dillon all perform live at Kings Place.
Luminate takes place from October 10 to 31, 2024. Find more information here.
