LISTEN: Camera – Salamantra

From one of two Liverpool Psych Fest vinyl releases; plus, spoken word programme announced

As it if wasn’t enough to be staging a host of ace head music, Liverpool’s International Festival Of Psychedelia have now announced that they’ll be releasing some too. There’ll be a pair of vinyl releases available exclusively at the festival, running at Camp & Furnace and Blade Factory from September 26-27: a 7", the first in a series titled PZYK SEVENS, featuring a pair of artists on the bill, Zombie Zombie covering New Order’s ‘Blue Monday’ B-side ‘The Beach’ and Orval Carlos Sibelius’ ‘Asteroids’ from last year’s Super Forma, as well as a 12" compilation, bringing together tracks from Goat, Allah-las, Black Mekon, Nueva Costa and Bonnacons Of Joy, as well as Berlin three-piece Camera, whose ‘Salamantra’ we’ve got a first play of – listen below:

Not only that, but the festival have announced their mammoth and truly excellent-looking ADVENTURES AT THE OUTER REACHES psych symposium, featuring a number of the Quietus’ favourite writers and musicians, not least two of our contributors, with Julian Marszalek interviewing David Stubbs about his Krautrock history, Future Days.
