Talented uber producer, singer songwriter and dubstep artist James Blake has hit back at suggestions that he has misfired with his self-titled debut by rush releasing a new single.
Blakey, whose album comes out on February 7 via A&M, has released a self-composed number entitled ‘Believe’ which is backed with a cover version of Godley & Creme’s ‘Cry’ and one of The Prodigy’s ‘Charlie’.
Both of these songs can be previewed on these Youtube embeds below. They’ve certainly split the vote in the Quietus office.
Believe
Cry
Charlie
The Quietus hopes that the choice of these cover versions were his own and not another example of a talented young artist being herded in a completely inappropriate direction by an over-bearing record company who don’t have their charge’s best long term interests at heart.
