Ahead of the return of Bradford’s Threadfest at the end of this month (May 27-29), the festival organisers have released a preview mixtape which you can have a listen of above.
The mixtape includes an impressively divergent selection of works by artists from this year’s line-up, including Kenyan folksong from Ogoya Nengo and The Dodo Women’s Group, frenetic psych-rock from Leeds-based three-piece, Cowtown, deadpan alt-comedy from Ted Chippington and sprawling post-rock from cult Italian group, Stearica.
As tQ announced last month, the line-up for this year’s festival is predictably eclectic. Recent additions to the programme include improvisational drone artist Marlo Eggplant, live coding performer Joanne Armitage and Gnod associate, Negra Branca (all of whom will appear at Fuse Art Space on May 27, supporting Ela Orleans).
The festival will also play host to performances from artists as diverse as post-punk veterans The Nightingales, local hero Serious Sam Barrett and new wave-inflected experimental pop outfit, Ravioli Me Away. For more information about this year’s festival and to get tickets, click here.
