Christelle Gualdi, the heat-hazed synth explorer more widely known as Stellar OM Source, has recently announced that her new album Joy One Mile is set for release on June 10th via RVNG Intl. It marks her first full-length release since the chance acquisition of a TB-303 sent her sound into newly supercharged, acidic dance music realms, leaving behind the pristine ambient architectures of old.
It also finds her, for the first time, collaborating with German house/techno artist extraordinaire Gunnar Wendel, aka Kassem Mosse. Gualdi invited Wendel to co-produce the album, explains the press release, stating that she "realised an objective opinion and arrangement know how would allow clarity and an even greater freedom … Confident the tracks stood strong, Gualdi gave little guidance to Wendel, relying instead on their mutual sonic and structural appreciations to steer the end goal." In addition to working on Joy One Mile proper, Wendel has also recorded a remix of album track ‘Elite Excel’ – a gorgeous, woozy slow house track, more languid and openly melodic than the majority of his work to date. It’s now available on the Elite Excel single which arrives in advance of the album, and we’re pleased to be able to offer you a listen to it below.
