LISTEN: Flamingods Remixed By Richard Norris

Hear Richard Norris' reworking of the Bahraini psych heads' 'Mixed Blessings' premiering below.

Bahraini psychedelic band Flamingods released their latest EP Kewali earlier this year, which included the single ‘Mixed Blessings’.

Above, we’re premiering a remix of that track from Richard Norris, of The Grid and Beyond the Wizards Sleeve.

It’s the second time Norris has lent his remixing skills to a Quietus favourite, having applied his talents to a sublime reworking of Mary Epworth’s ‘Me, Swimming’ earlier this month, which premiered here on tQ.

Norris said of the collaboration: "I was DJing alongside Flamingods recently and thought their live show was phenomenal, the best I’ve seen in a long while. I wanted to capture that energy in this mix – a hypnotic soundtrack to a great night out. With added space echo."

Flamingods’ Kamal added: "We feel so blessed for his remix. He’s worked on so much music we’ve loved over the years from The Grid to Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve and his re-working, much like most of his work is hypnotic, psychedelic and trance-inducing. Just the way we like it!"

Flamingods play a London headline show at the Jazz Cafe on October 3. You can purchase tickets here

You can listen to the other tracks off the Kewali EP and purchase it here.
