Oneida, the New York band that count among their numbers drum maestro Kid Millions (who has been releasing music and playing shows this year under his Man Forever guise) have announced that they are to release a new album, entitled A List Of The Burning Mountains, on November 12th. In case you haven’t been aware of the Quietus’ love for Oneida in the past, this is unquestionably a Very Good Thing – they’re hands down one of the greatest psychedelic bands currently operating in the world today, able to move with ease from chugging motorik pop to folk to beatless guitar squall (last year’s Absolute II) to 12-hour long improvised live sessions under the banner of The Ocropolis.
A List Of The Burning Mountains consists of two 20 minute long compositions whose freeform compositional and rhythmic approach strongly recalls the meandering explorations of the group’s Ocropolis sessions at ATPs in New York and Minehead.
