The Soft Moon, the project of California-based genre-crosser Luis Vasquez, releases third album Deeper next week, via Captured Tracks. Three singles have already been revealed in the run-up to the album’s release, but you can now take a listen to the album in full, above, seven days ahead of it hitting shelves.
The album’s release follows the sharing of lead single ‘Black’, as well as ‘Far’ and ‘Desertion’. The album is described as seeing Vasquez wrestle “thoughts of suicide, vulnerability and what it means to heal”, making for his most personal work yet. The album’s description goes on: “The creation of Deeper was an intense personal exploration of existence for Vasquez – old wounds were forcibly opened, deep anger and paranoia were manipulated into song – and he did not emerge unchanged.” Vasquez will tour North America through April, and will then head to Europe in May and June, playing two UK dates towards the end of May at London’s Garage, May 25, and Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club, 26. Tickets for those shows and the rest of the forthcoming tour can be found here.
