Schoolhouse, otherwise known as Peter J. Taylor, makes up the latest release on the Bezirk label in the form of Fade. The album is comprised of two sidelong compositions entitled ‘What Was Said Can Never Be Undone’ and ‘Gran (D)’, and you can hear the first side above.
Fade is made up of meticulous arrangements of material "recorded entirely ‘within’ a laptop." The nuanced, gradual progression of the compositions invoke comparisons to the work of Charlemagne Palestine and Alvin Lucier, and renders the record "an antidote to a culture of quick fixes."
The guitarist and composer has previously released Soft Focus and Herd under his Schoolhouse moniker on Manchester based Tombed Visions. You can order Fade here.
