LISTEN: New Marching Church Album

Iceage frontman Elias Rønnenfelt's latest project streams new album in full; listen below

Marching Church is the new band of Iceage frontman Elias Rønnenfelt, who here stylises a more slow, complex kind of songwriting to that found in his original hardcore punk band.

Lead single ‘Lion’s Den’ has the pacing and arpeggio guitar of Wish-era The Cure, setting the precedent for the album’s pained melancholy. The band, which is also based in Copenhagen, enlists Iceage bandmate Johan S. Weith on guitar. Marching Church incorporates some orchestral features, with strings from Stargaze Orchestra’s Thora Sveinsdottir and Maaike Van der Linde on flute.

Album Telling It Like It Is is out this Friday (October 28) on Sacred Bones and follows off the back of the release of their 2015 debut album, This World Is Not Enough. Marching Church are on tour in the UK. Tickets are available via SeeTickets for their <a href=“http://www.seetickets.com/event/marching-church/the-victoria/1012180 “ target=“out”>The Victoria show in London on November 14 and their gig at The Green Door Store in Brighton on November 15.
