LISTEN: New Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith

Plus! Crackers animation

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith shares previously unreleased track ‘Riparian’ with accompanying music video. The track is a previously unreleased piece of material left over from the recording of EARS, and here comes with a psychedelic 3D animation. The video itself is styled out in the vein of like Björk’s animated, nature-inspired visual art and was made by glitch artist PixelPa aka Andrew Benson. 60s analogue electronic influences are apparent here, such as Morton Subotnick who like to Smith is known for using Buchla synthesisers.

EARS, which is Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith’s fifth album to date, was released in April this year on Western Vinyl. She also collaborated this year with Suzanne Ciani on another album, Sunergy.

‘Riparian’ is available for listening at the above Youtube link.
