LISTEN: New Half Japanese

Check out a new track from the band below

Before their 2014 album Overjoyed, the DIY garage pop band Half Japanese had been on hiatus since 2001 and now are clearly making up for lost time.

Coinciding with Halloween, you can listen to a new single from the band, entitled ‘Attack Of The Giant Leeches’, above. It’s pulled from another new album Hear The Lions Roar, released soon through Fire Records.

This album works as a follow up to Perfect, which was also released this year. The track features the band’s familiar shambolic, garage band sound, returning to the B-Movie horror-inspired lyrical themes that the band were known for on their earlier albums like Sing No Evil. This album does have some new inclusions though, with horn player Lydia Fischer and cellist Sophie Bernadou as guest musicians on some of the tracks here. Hear The Lions Roar is set for release in January next year.
