Fatima Al Qadiri has announced details of her second full-length album for Hyperdub. You can check out a track, entitled ‘Battery’, above right now.
The album, which is called Brute, follows on from the release of the producer’s 2014 Hyperdub album Asiatisch and last year’s debut Future Brown album, released via Warp. Brute, as is hinted by the album’s artwork below, explores “the relationship between police, citizens and protest worldwide, particularly of her adopted home in the United States,” according to Hyperdub. The album’s artowkr depicts the Josh Kline sculpture ‘Po-Po’ altered by art director Babak Radboy. Brute is out on March 4.
