LISTEN: New Daniel O’Sullivan

The Grumbling Fur man's solo record VELD is due next month, listen to a new track 'The Swimmer' below.

Grumbling Fur’s Daniel O’Sullivan is set to release his new solo album VELD via Tim Burgess’ O Genesis Recordings on 30 June. You can listen to a new track from the record, ‘The Swimmer’, above.

O’Sullivan says of the track, "It started with open tuned Autoharp. Faking Orphic hymns. It’s about being at sea in the suburbs and finding sanctuary in solitude."

O Genesis describes the album as containing ”luminous pop incantations” and ”shimmering drones," which is certainly true of ‘The Swimmer’. O’Sullivan’s vocals float between cascading strings and a tones that chime more than they drone, creating a dreamy soundscape in line with VELD‘s lead track.

VELD will be released 30 June. O’Sullivan will play an album launch show at Café Oto on 13 July with Paper Dollhouse. Look <a href="https://www.cafeoto.co.uk/events/daniel-osullivan-album-launch/” target="out">here for more.
