Earlier this year, Arca announced tentative plans for the release of Mutant, his second album, following on from the 2014 release of debut album Xen. Now he has shared a track from the album, entitled ‘Soichiro’, which you can check out above.
The track is the first taste of the new album which has been pencilled in for a “fall” release date and was announced rather informally via Twitter last month with the message: “I CANNOT w8 to share with u all !!” ‘Soichiro’ is, according to a Twitter post from the producer, the middle name of collaborator Jesse Kanda, and the track recalls parts of material from Xen, the Venezuelan producer’s debut album which came out late last year, via Mute. This new album is also expected via Mute, though full release details are yet to be announced.
