Lust For Youth, aka Sweden’s Hannes Norrvide, has announced that he will be releasing a new 12" single entitled ‘Chasing The Light’ on 18th February via Sacred Bones. It follows on from the release of his debut album Growing Seeds late last year, whose "twining of noise and pop feels unstudied, and instinctual," we said in our review, "an articulation of something intensely personal, and, in its own way, utterly fresh." We’re pleased to be able to offer you a stream of ‘Chasing The Light’ – a dark and dashing slice of synth-pop whose gritty surfaces and chanted vocals recall by turns Cold Cave, Love & Lust-era Chris & Cosey and even recent material by Prurient – via the embed below.
In keeping with its upbeat, even danceable, feel, the ‘Chasing The Light’ 12" will also feature remixes: one a revisioning of the track by Anthony Naples, who has recently been making waves with his crumpled takes on house music, and a club edit of ‘Saluting Rome’, featuring additional percussion from Vår’s Kristian Emdal.
Lust For Youth will be playing a handful of dates this month in Scandinavia – see tour dates below:
