Lana Del Rey is set to release her second single ‘Born To Die’, the follow-up to the massively successful and uber-hyped ‘Video Games’, on 23rd January. It’s to be followed by an album of the same name a week later, on 30th January.
There’s also a remixes EP in the pipeline, featuring mixes from Damon Albarn, Woodkid and excellent hazy hip-hop producer Clams Casino. Clams’ beats have created quite a stir in the last 18 months or so, both as instrumentals and as backing for the likes of Soulja Boy, Lil B and, recently, marking the highpoints of A$AP Rocky’s LiveLoveA$AP mixtape. Here he gives Del Rey a typically aquatic makeover, half-sinking her vocal in a drowned suburb’s worth of echo and delay.
