Nicolas Godin, one half of Air, is soon to release his debut solo album Contrepoint and one of its lead singles, ‘Widerstehe Doch Der Sünde’, has just been remixed by Godflesh and Jesu’s Justin K Broadrick.
As expected, Broadrick’s interpretation of the track is a somewhat different affair to Godin’s original (and all of his work as part of Air) as he layers the kind of fuzzy, doom-ridden guitars expected of Jesu and Godflesh over the original’s atmospherics, though leaving the vocals maintaining much of the momentum throughout its seven-plus minutes. Contrepoint will be released on September 17 via Because Music. In the meantime, listen to the remix above, while the original’s video is below:
