LISTEN: Jarvis’ Paris Response

Jarvis Cocker shares song written in the wake of Paris terror attacks

Over the weekend, Jarvis Cocker used his BBC 6 Music show, Sunday Service, to air a piece of music penned in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris earlier this month. You can hear it from 01:00:45 mark here.

Entitled ‘Friday 13th 2015’, the track, a fairly atmospheric, spoken word piece, is credited to both Jarvis and Serafina Steer and sees Cocker ruminating on the concept of freedom. Jarvis also notably makes reference to some new music that he has been working on in the piece. The show also saw him play music from French musicians such as Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Dutronc and Françoise Hardy as well as Frank Sinatra’s ‘I Love Paris’.
