Dean Blunt, one half of Hype Williams, has made a new record available via his Soundcloud. Entitled ‘The Narcissist II’, it’s got a low-slung, sleazy feel, opening with a very distinctive Hype Williams synth drone and passing through half an hour of drone, sunken R&B and soul. It’s rather different from previous HW material in that Blunt and Inga Copeland’s vocals are noticeably higher up in the mix, and trails the duo’s upcoming new full-length on Hyperdub nicely. Self-Titled magazine have also announced more details about the duo’s upcoming new album. Their first since last year’s excellent One Nation, it will be released through Hyperdub this spring and is entitled Black Is Beautiful. Full tracklist and artwork is below.
