There has been a great deal of speculation around when a new album is due to arrive from Frank Ocean, whose Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape was one of our favourite records of last year. The Odd Future-affiliated singer/songwriter signed last year to Island/Def Jam, and while there was talk of a proper release for Nostalgia, Ultra for a while, news around that has subsided and we’ve been given no definite information around the release of any new material. Today, however, we’ve received a mysterious email simply stating ‘Frank Ocean – channel ORANGE (17/7/12)’, suggesting that something new is likely to arrive from him next month. More news when we have it, but in the interim period, watch the video for new track ‘Pyramids’ above.
