Mute-signed Canadian singer Al Spx, aka Cold Specks, has covered Swans’ ‘Reeling The Liars In’, which you can listen to below.
It’s fairly faithful to the original, which was taken from Swans’ recent album My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky, but loses some of the bristly, unsettling edge of Michael Gira’s take in favour of a rather less abrasive feel. It will be released on Record Store Day – this Saturday 21st April – on a 12" EP called Dancing Coins.

‘Holland’ is taken from Cold Specks’ upcoming debut album, set for release through Mute on 21st May. I Predict A Graceful Expulsion – nope, contrary to the name, nothing to do with those pesky Kaiser Chiefs – will be preceded by another single, ‘Blank Maps’, on 14th May.
