New York pianist Bruce Brubaker will present a special show at London’s Institut Français next month, during which he will re-interpret the music of Philip Glass in support of his new full-length release, Glass Piano. Above is a Plaid remix of ‘Metamorphosis 5’ for you to listen over, which is only available to purchase through online store Bleep as part of the full release of the album.
The set at South Kensington’s Institut Français will be Brubaker’s only UK date in support of Glass Piano and will be free entry, though you will need to book your place in advance here. It will take place in the Ciné Lumière within the venue on Saturday July 25, a setting carefully chosen as the setting for Brubaker to offer his taken on Glass’s classic compositions, music that, as he puts it himself, is “the sound of being conscious.” Glass Piano is out now.
