Broken20’s Tangents Series is a platform for new, collaborative live music, releasing various projects through CD-r with handmade inserts by designer David Fyans. The second release in the series sees BrokenThree, a project made up of Erstlaub, Production Unit and TVO, who make up the team behind Broken20 itself. The set was recorded live and improvised in Edinburgh in 2013. It was put together after The Wire’s Joseph Stannard requested a contribution from all three producers for his The Outer Church compilation on Front & Follow Records. Information accompanying the release says: "A visual score was created to illustrate the relative activity of each player at any point. Rules were set: two agreed tempos, two keys, but with an agreement to work separately on the constituent parts so that each participant had no idea what the other two would play.
