LISTEN: Linda Sharrock Live At Le Guess Who?

Hear a recording of the legendary jazz singer's set at one of Europe's finest festivals below

In November last year, the wonderful Le Guess Who? festival in Utrecht played host to, among many others, the legendary jazz singer Linda Sharrock.

The recording of her phenomenal performance at the festival has just been made available, and can be listened to below.

The performance was curated by audiovisual performance project Jerusalem In My Heart, and consists of three lengthy improvisational pieces. The full line-up on the recordings is:

Linda Sharrock – Voice

Mario Rechtern – Soprano, Alto, Baritone, Saxoline

Margaret Unknown – Guitar, Electronics

Farida Amadou – Basa

Jasper Stadhouders – Guitar

Onno Govaert – Drums

In 2009, Sharrock suffered a stroke which left her partially disabled and unable to speak, however managed to return to performing just a few years later, collaborating with Mario Rechtern and Margaret Unknown.
