Liberez return to Helm's Alter label with new record and video

Later this month, Helm’s Alter label will release a new full-length from Southend-on-Sea-based experimental group Liberez. Premiering above is an unsettling video for one of that record’s tracks, ‘Cellophane Window’.

The video offers fitting accompaniment to Liberez’ sparse, gloomy atmospherics, built around hypnotic percussion that takes inspiration from Flamenco time signatures.

The new record, titled Way Through Vulnerability, is the product of an 18-month-long process that has seen the group, consisting of an amorphous new line-up of members Reay, Saunders and Ugarteburu, expand the Liberez sound further following previous outings on Alter and Glasgow’s Night School Records. The album sees the new members channel Basque country language, Hungarian speech and ancient Russian into their music.

Alter will release Way Through Vulnerability on November 30. You can pre-order it here.
