After Liars summarily laid waste to venues in the UK in the last couple of weeks – with a particularly stunning show at London’s XOYO, which you can read about here – the Mute-signed three piece have announced another set of UK dates, to take place in October. They come after the recent release of the band’s excellent sixth album WIXIW, which is one of our favourite albums of 2012 so far. For the list of dates, see the list below.
For a taster of what to expect, Luke Turner offers a wide-eyed view of their XOYO gig (read the full review via the link above): "Liars come alive when they’re at their most psychotic and absurd, when Andrew becomes a gesticulating priest of the pop avant-garde. When he comes onstage to the encore of ‘Broken Witch’ brandishing a knife with hammy horror flick malice, it sends the room bananas. The closing, furious ‘Plaster Casts Of Everything’ is Liars’ stab of brilliance. "I wannarunaway I wannarunaway I wannarunaway" Andrew screams… "I wannarunnaway I wannabringyoutoo". We’re all there with him."
