On June 30, Liars are releasing ‘Pro Anti Anti’, the next single from their recent album Mess. Available from Mute either digitally or on coloured vinyl, it comes with a new track, ‘Waste Fraud’, and a mighty smorgasbord of mixes, including label head Daniel Miller’s radio edit and remixes from Factory Floor, Truss and Nest Of Teens. We’ve got a first play of FF’s rework, done by the band’s Gabriel Gurnsey and Nik Colk Void (there they are above, suffering from some sort of terrible affliction of the head), which takes the sheer fist-pumping oof-y prowess of the original ("one of the most pugilistic bangers Liars have every written", as Sophie Coletta described it in our review) and form a mesmeric, cyclic, but no less dance floor-worthy banger out of it, one of their best remixes yet. Listen below:
Liars are heading on tour (minus drummer Julian Gross, owing to back injury, with Butchy Fuego standing in) in the U.S. this month before playing Jabberwocky in London on August 16. They’ve also just been announced for ATP Iceland, running from July 10-12, in Keflavík. Head to their website for details and get hold of ‘Pro Anti Anti’ from Mute upon release.
