Brilliant Berlin-based musician remixes Bill Ryder-Jones, along with Belbury Poly and Moon Wiring Club

Leyland Kirby, one of the guises of James Kirby (the man also responsible for The Caretaker and VVM), has remixed Bill Ryder-Jones. Along with fellow spectral types Belbury Poly and Moon Wiring Club, he’s taken his distinctive sonic shears to a track from Ryder-Jones’ If album, stretching it out into a stormy, photo-negative blur.

Ryder-Jones is also currently running a rather amusing looking personal theme tune competition, which you can find more information about/enter here. Entrants describe themselves using text, photo or video, and Ryder-Jones will choose the most interesting as inspiration for a composition.

In other James Leyland Kirby news, he plays a rare live show at London’s Bishopsgate Institute this Friday 27th January, alongside the combined forces of King Midas Sound and Raime. the Quietus will be in attendance – it promises to be a very memorable evening indeed. More details here.
