I suspect many of us upon reading Leonard Cohen’s last letter to Marianne, the woman he immortalised in song, shivered at the words "well Marianne it’s come to this time when we are really so old and our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon. Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine." Don’t leave us, Len! Happily, a facebook post today informs that there’s a new Leonard Cohen album due this autumn. The brief message says "At the age of 82 Leonard Cohen is releasing an album of haunting new songs, which the lucky few who have heard it, deem “a masterpiece” and “classic Cohen”.
