It looks like Leonard Cohen has a new album on the way. Rolling Stone report that, while Popular Problems, which will follow up his 2012 record Old Ideas, hasn’t yet officially been announced, plans for its release were unveiled at Leonard Cohen Event 2014, an official fan convention that took place in Dublin last week. They quote Jarkko Arjatsalo, who runs Cohen’s website, writing, with the news apparently coming straight from the man himself, in the foreword to the event’s programme: "Leonard has worked hard on his next studio album of entirely new songs. He asked me to let you know that Popular Problems will be out at the end of September, shortly after his 80th birthday."
They also point to Amazon France, which lists the record with a September 22 release date. Stay tuned for further details.
