New York rapper Le1f was responsible for one of the Quietus’ favourite records of this year so far in the shape of his mixtape Fly Zone. There have been rumours floating around for a while about its imminent follow-up, and now we’ve been informed that his next mixtape, Tree House, will be released on September 10th. We’ve also been given a taste of its contents, thanks to the track ‘Damn Son’, which you can listen to and download via the embed below. It finds him toying with the ubiquitous "damn son, where’d you find this" sample that’s been cropping up with tiresome regularity in US big-room EDM, but in Le1f’s hands is lent a customary hallucinatory sheen.

Keep an eye on the Quietus next week for an in-depth interview with Le1f, where he speaks about the making of his mixtapes Dark York, Fly Zone and Tree House, his love of grime and dreaming about Pokemon.
