LCD Soundsystem Share New Track, ‘New Body Rhumba’

It's the band's first new song in five years

LCD Soundsystem have released a new single, ‘new body rhumba’.

Out now, the track was specially written and recorded for director Noah Baumback’s new film White Noise, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and will be made available for streaming via Netflix on December 30. The new song, the first to emerge from LCD Soundsystem since 2017’s American Dream LP, was written by the group’s James Murphy, Pat Mahoney and Nancy Whang, and produced by Murphy. You can listen to it above.

In addition to releasing ‘new body rhumba’, LCD Soundsystem have also confirmed a new 20-show live residency at New York’s Brooklyn Steel. It will follow a late 2021 residency at the venue which was cut short due to the rise of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 last December, as well as a series of shows there when it opened in 2017. The new residency will begin on November 18 and come to an end on December 18. Find the full list of dates here.

‘new body rhumba’ is out now on Columbia / DFA.
